ProgramProject Performance Review, with speaker Dr. Alexia Nalewaik, FRICS, CCP, CCA, Principal, QS Requin Corporation.

Dr. Nalewaik’s recently published book on Project Performance Review focuses on evaluating projects efficiently and in context, identifying important improvement opportunities and including continuous monitoring in the project.  Dr Alexia provides a bit of personal and professional history, and insight to challenges inherent to projects and the procurement of professional services.  Plus if there is enough time, an overview of the Project Performance Review methodology will be discussed in the context of project monitoring, perceptions of success, and Total Cost Management.  If you don't attend for the snark, laughter and outrage, please do attend for a chance at the door prize.

Alexia is AACE International's President-Elect 2017-2018, research chair and past-chair of ICEC, and the owner of QS Requin Corporation. She has 25 years of experience in capital project consulting, with a focus on project performance, risk management, governance, and cost controls.

· CCTS Update: Tentative dates have been set for the next Space Congress: February 27th, 28th and March 1st, 2018.  The 2016 CCTS Engineers Week Technical Achievement Award was presented to Section member Susan B. Zimmerman, CCP at the recent Space Congress.  Our sincere congratulations to Susan for this significant professional honor.  For information upcoming CCTS programs, visit

· Our congratulations to North Florida Board member Fernando Villanueva, PMP for being named the
2016 North Florida AACE "You're a Star" Award winner at our December 8th, 2016 Holiday Section Meeting. 

· Congratulations also to North Florida Section member F. Sam Griggs, CCP, FAACE, who received the prestigious AACE Fellow Award at the AACE Annual Meeting in Toronto, Canada.

· We’re pleased to announce that the North Florida Section has been presented with an AACE Platinum Section Award for 2015-16.  This is the highest award given to Sections, and was based on significant Section programs and activities including scholarships, technical and board meetings, seminars, communications, elections, other awards, and more.  We've always known that our Section has been offering excellent benefits for our members, and now we've also received the highest official recognition by AACE for our efforts.  Our sincere appreciation to all of you for your continuing service as Section members and leaders, and we congratulate you for your role in earning this recognition of significant accomplishment. 

· Scholarships:  Our congratulations to Ilya Andrushchenko (University of Florida) for being awarded a 2016 AACE scholarship of $1,000.00.  North Florida AACE Section scholarships of $375.00 each were also awarded to Joanna Rivero (University of Pittsburgh) and Taiason Cole (University of Central Florida) for 2016.  The AACE scholarship application period is open December 1st through February 28th each year.  Students from our Section have now been awarded fifteen AACE scholarships since 2008, with many also receiving Section supplemental scholarships plus AACE Matching Funds.  See the Scholarship page for details.
