August 2019 Source Now Available
The August Source magazine has been posted and is available for reading and viewing. Remember, anyone can access the Source magazine, so you can share the link with others and encourage coworkers to join and become AACE International members.
The Source is available here and includes prior issues back to February 2012 when the magazine was introduced. Take advantage of the Source content as only AACE members have access to the peer-reviewed Cost Engineering journal.
In the August Source, read a recap of all the awards presented at the June AACE International Conference & Expo including the Honorary Life Membership Award, the Industry Appreciation Award, Award of Merit, five AACE Fellow Awards, the O.T. Zimmerman Award, TCM Excellence Award, Keane Award for Distinguished Service to an AACE Section, Outstanding Rising Professional and Outstanding Woman in AACE International. Section award winners are also listed on page 28. Save the Date now for the 2020 AACE Conference & Expo set for June 28 to July 1, 2020 in Chicago.
Also, in the August Source is a bonus technical article, “Using a QRA Maturity Model for Continuous Improvement” by James E. Arrow, DRMP. A Technical Board short article by Kul Uppal, CEP DRMP, titled, “Risk and Scope of Work.” The Certification news article is a question and answer interview with Mark Guevara, CFCC PSP and CFCC Team Chair. Nicole Johnson is profiles as the Woman in Project Controls and Srinath Purushothaman is profiled as the Rising Professional. We regret to report the death of longtime AACE member Albert J. Bevacqua, a CCE Emeritus and AACE Fellow, having joined AACE in 1969.

For those who attended the conference and purchased recordings of the sessions, those have been finalized and posted to the attendee’s profiles at web.aacei.org.
The issue wraps up with a listing of the titles and authors of the three technical papers that will be published in the September/October Cost Engineering journal. The peer-reviewed journal is a member-only benefit, so if you enjoy the bonus technical article in this issue of Source and are not an AACE member, consider joining to take advantage of all the member benefits. Need a look at other AACE resources, visit web.aacei.org and review the abstracts of each of the AACE Recommended Practices or do an advanced search by subject at the AACE Virtual Library and read the abstracts of all prior technical papers published on total cost management topics. Members can download pdfs of the prior technical articles, just one of the AACE member benefits.
