Program:  Cost Estimating for Unique Projects

Our October section meeting will take our membership to the front lines of innovative construction.  As guests of Jay Dougherty, Adjunct Professor at Seminole State College (an active member of our North Florida AACE Section), we will join his evening class in Construction Cost Estimating for a lesson entitled, “Cost Estimating for Unique Projects.”  The content of this technical presentation will range from construction in our local theme parks all the way to a current project in Antarctica.

Students from Seminole State will be there to attend class, giving us a wonderful opportunity to introduce them to the services, vision, mission, operations and certification opportunities provided by AACE International.  You may even encounter a potential new employee for your own company!

Come experience an evening dedicated to cost estimating challenges.  Introduce students to an expanded vision of project controls.  Represent your local section.  Be prepared to discuss your own projects and share from your valuable experience.  Invest in the future of cost engineering!

Speaker:  Jay Dougherty

Director of Estimating, Willis Construction Consulting, Inc. (WCCI)

Jay has 30 years of experience as an estimator and has worked for building contractors, as an owner’s representative for both Disney and Universal Creative. He is currently the director of estimating for WCCI and is also an adjunct professor at Seminole State College. Jay has worked on large high-profile projects in Indiana, Oregon and Florida.

Pre-Registration is required for this meeting; 
we need to provide a complete list of names to the Campus Security desk.  

RSVPs must be received on or before 5pm on Wednesday, 09-October 2019.  Your friends and colleagues are always welcome, but be sure to pre-register them along with your own RSVP.

Dinners are offered with advance reservations at $15.00 per person, but for this meeting only, payments will be collected from our section members at the next section meeting, or via an electronic payment method (Venmo). In the event that you must cancel your reservation, please inform us at least 24 hours before the meeting.
